1. Get your API key

Request a verification email. Open the link in your inbox to receive your ps_live_… key once. Store it securely; if lost, request a new key. Keys share the account balance.

List keys with GET /api/v1/keys. Use POST /api/v1/keys/{id}/revoke to revoke one, or POST /api/v1/keys/{id}/rotate to replace one. Replacement returns the new key once and disables the old key.

2. Estimate, then start

A full check observes a brand over 24 hours. It needs a matching business website, one to five supported countries, and a depth of 12, 24, or 48 searches per country. The estimate costs no searches. Starting reserves the estimate. Confirm commercial use and acceptance of the terms when starting.

Two countries at depth 24 reserve 48 searches. Requests from email addresses outside the brand's domain enter manual review, normally within one business day. Rejected requests release the reservation. Daily capacity can move the scheduled date.

Poll for queued, searching, done, or failed. Live results include the observation time, city, and ad attribution. A successful observation costs one search, including when no ads appear. Execution failures release the credit. Screenshots are not available through the API yet; results are structured data.

Connect with remote MCP

Add https://poachsearch.com/mcp as a Streamable HTTP server in a client that supports a custom Authorization header. Set that header to Bearer followed by your key. Automatic sign-in is not available; obtain the key through email verification first. Your client's configuration format may differ:

Legacy clients can initialize with protocol 2025-11-25; subsequent requests send MCP-Protocol-Version: 2025-11-25. Send Accept: application/json, text/event-stream. The server returns JSON responses and does not require a session ID.

Add searches with PayPal

The balance response and insufficient-credit errors include a buy_url. Open it in a browser to buy a pack with the existing PayPal checkout. Keep this private account link secure. Payment approval alone does not add searches; a confirmed capture does. Your agent can check the balance again after checkout.

Limits & predictable behavior

• API requests and key issuance have separate IP and account limits. HTTP 429 means retry later; changing keys does not bypass account limits.
• Default full-check capacity: 1,500 estimated searches per UTC day across the service; work is scheduled into available capacity.
• Live searches: one active per account, up to 20 per account per UTC day and 300 across the service. Limits may change with capacity.
• Only supported countries and eligible business brands are accepted. Requests for people and sensitive categories are rejected.
• HTTP errors use a stable JSON error.code and error.message. Insufficient-credit errors include error.buy_url. MCP execution errors return a tool result with isError: true.
• Starting work spends or reserves credits. Retry read requests freely; after an ambiguous start response, check its outcome before starting again.
